At NT Neurophysiology, we provide nerve conduction studies to assist in the diagnosis of peripheral nerve disorders.
All tests are performed by a Clinical Neurophysiology Scientist, qualified with a Master of Science in Medicine (Clinical Neurophysiology).
Common examples of peripheral nerve disorders include but are not limited to, compression of the median nerve at the wrist (carpal tunnel syndrome), ulnar nerve compression at the elbow, peroneal nerve compression at the fibula head, and length dependent peripheral neuropathies.
Nerve conduction studies for investigation of peripheral nerve pathology and neural symptoms.
Needle electromyography (EMG) is not currently available, and as such our services focus primarily on peripheral nerve lesions and neuropathies.
A Nerve Conduction Study is a diagnostic tool to test the function of peripheral nerves, using a small electrical pulse, and recording electrodes.
